The Richard Rorty Society invites submission of proposals for potential presentation in panel sessions at the 2026 Eastern APA meeting in Baltimore, Maryland, which will take place at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront. The panels may include a series of individual papers with a common theme connected to Rorty’s thought, or may be devoted to an author-meets-critics session where the book discussed addresses Rorty’s writings. Scholars interested in presenting current work that engages substantially with Rorty’s thought should submit their proposals to Sergio Gallegos Ordorica at sgallegos@jjay.cuny.edu before July 31st (all that is required for submission is your name, institutional affiliation, a 100-word abstract and a firm commitment to attend in person if selected). The Richard Rorty Society invites submissions for its fourth meeting on the theme of Philosophy, Democracy and Conversation or any aspect of his life and work. The meeting will be held December 3-5, 2025, at the Facultad de Filosofía y Letras, Universidad de Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Our keynote speakers will be Susana de Castro (Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, Brasil), Susan Dieleman (University of Lethbridge, Canada) and Michael Williams (Johns Hopkins University, USA).

There is no registration fee to attend the conference.
